존경하는 한국인도학회 회원 여러분께,
안녕하십니까?
지난 6월 1일 동명대학교에서 거행된 (사)한국인도학회·인도연구소 HK+사업단·동명대학교 인도문화연구소 공동학술대회 및 (사)한국인도학회 제56차 정기학술대회에 대해 간략한 보고 올립니다. 이번 학술대회는 <인도: 다양성의 시대, 이해와 도전>이라는 주제로 열렸습니다.
개회식은 (사)한국인도학회 회장 이은구 교수님의 개회사와 동명대학교 인도문화연구소 소장 장재진 교수님의 환영사로 시작하였으며, 명경문화재단 이사장이신 주석스님과 구형모 KNN 부산경남방송 이사 겸 부산영어마을 대표님의 축사가 있었습니다.
이어 진행된 학술대회는 두 개의 패널로 나뉘어 진행되었습니다. 첫 번째 패널(좌장: 장재진, 동명대)은 인도의 사상과 문학을 주제로 하여, “뿌즈야빠다(Pūjyapāda)의 『사마디딴뜨라(Samādhitantra)』에 나타난 자아관”에 대한 양영순(서울대)의 발표와 강형철(경희대)의 논평이 있었습니다. 또한, “독립 후 힌디어 단편소설과 한국어 단편소설에 나타난 삶의 현실”에 대해 Gyan Prakash(한국외대)의 발표와 Srijan Kumar(부산외대)의 논평이 이어졌습니다.
두 번째 패널(좌장: 이순철, 부산외대)은 인도의 정치와 경제를 다루었습니다. “남아시아 지역의 공적개발원조(ODA) 정책의 특징과 한계: 인도의 ODA 실적을 중심으로(2020년~23년)”라는 주제로 이병진(동명대)의 발표와 Iordanka Alexandrova(서울과기대)의 논평이 있었습니다. 이어서 “반도체 산업 패권 재편과 인도: 세미콘인디아 정책을 중심으로”라는 주제로 이보담(어니스트앤영인디아)의 발표와 한진원(한국외대)의 논평이 진행되었습니다.
학술대회는 많은 참석자의 열띤 참여 속에 진행되었으며, 저녁 식사 자리까지 활발한 학술 교류의 장이 이어졌습니다.
이번 학술대회가 성공적으로 개최될 수 있도록 협력해 주신 한국외국어대학교 인도연구소 HK+사업단과 동명대학교 인도문화연구소에 깊은 감사의 말씀을 드리며, 아낌없는 후원을 해주신 한국연구재단에도 감사드립니다. 또한, 알찬 프로그램을 기획하고 준비해 주신 이춘호 (사)한국인도학회 연구이사님께도 진심으로 감사의 말씀을 전합니다. 무엇보다도 바쁜 일정에도 불구하고 다양한 발표와 토론을 통해 새로운 학술적 논의의 장을 마련해주신 여러 선생님께 깊이 감사드립니다. 끝으로, 학술대회 준비 기간 동안 따뜻한 관심과 격려를 보내주신 학회원 여러분께도 다시 한 번 감사의 인사를 올립니다.
아울러 10월 말 출간 예정인 『인도연구』 제29권 2호에 많은 투고를 부탁드리며, 12월 개최 예정인 제57차 (사)한국인도학회 정기학술대회에도 여러분의 큰 관심과 성원을 부탁드립니다.
마지막으로, (사)한국인도학회는 학회원 여러분의 관심과 지원으로 운영되고 있습니다. 학회 홈페이지에서는 연회비 또는 기부금을 보내실 수 있는 계좌를 공유하고 있으며, 지정기부금 단체로서 연말정산 시 기부금 세제 혜택을 받을 수 있는 기부금 영수증도 발행해 드리고 있습니다.

Dear Members of the Society,
The Korean Society for Indian Studies held its 56th Regular Conference on Saturday, June 1st, at Tongmyong University, Busan. Co-hosted with the Institute of Indian Studies HK+ Project, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and the Indian Culture Research Institute, Tongmyong University, we prepared two panels on ‘India: Understanding and Challenge in the Era of Diversity.’
The Opening Remarks were delivered by Professor Lee Eun-Gu, President of the Korean Society for Indian Studies, followed by Welcoming Remarks of Professor Jang Jae-Jin, Director of the Indian Culture Research Institute. Ven. Joo-Suk, Chairperson of Myeong Kyeong Cultural Foundation and Koo Hyung-Mo, Director of the KNN & President of Busan Global Village presented congratulatory remarks at the event.
The Conference was divided into two panels. The first panel(Chair: Jang Jae-Jin, Tongmyong Univ.) focused on ‘Thoughts and Literature of India.’ It featured a presentation by Yang Young-Sun(SNU) on “The View of Self in Pūjyapāda’s Samādhitantra,” with a commentary by Kang Hyong-Chol(Kyung Hee Univ.). Additionally, Gyan Prakash(HUFS) presented on “The Reality of Life Depicted in Hindi and Korean Stories After Independence,” followed by a commentary from Srijan Kumar(BUFS).
The second panel(Chair: Lee Soon-Cheul, BUFS) addressed ‘Politics and Economy of India.’ Lee Byung-Jin(Tongmyong Univ.) presented on “An Analysis of the Characteristics and Limitations of Official Development Assistance(ODA) Policies in South Asia: Examining India’s ODA Performance(2020-2023)” with a commentary by Iordanka Alexandrova(SeoulTech). Following this, Lee Bo-Dam(Ernst & Young India) presented on “Chip War and India: With Special Reference to SemiconIndia Programme,” with a commentary by Han Jin-Won(HUFS).
The conference saw enthusiastic participation from many attendees and continued with vibrant academic exchanges during the dinner gathering.
We look forward to seeing your work in the upcoming issue of the Journal of Indian Studies, to be published in October 2024, and hope to meet you at our 57th Regular Conference, planned for December 2024.
