한국인도학회 1/4분기 사업 보고 Quarterly Report of KSIS

한국인도학회 회원님들께,

안녕하십니까?

개나리와 벚꽃이 만개하는 4월이 되었습니다.  1/4분기 사업에 대한 보고에 앞서, 우선 지난 2015년 11월 정기총회 의결사항에 대하여 간단히 말씀 드리겠습니다.

2015년도의 회계결산 외에 정기총회 중 특기할 사안으로 지정기부금 단체 요건을 갖추도록 학회 정관 개정안을 통과시킨 것과 함께, 『인도연구』의 출간을 위해 한국연구재단에서 제공하는 온라인투고시스템(JAMS) 도입과 윤리규정 개정안을 의결한 것을 꼽을 수 있습니다. 그리고 지난 3개월 간 학회 소식으로 다음 사안을 꼽을 수 있습니다.

1.  외교부 보고: 외교부 남아시아태평양과 소관 비영리단체로써 사단법인 한국인도학회는 2015년 사업실적 보고 및 수입지출 결산서, 그리고 2016년도 사업계획보고서와 예산서를 제출하였습니다. 2016년 주요 사업 계획으로는 두 차례의 정기학술대회 및 『인도연구』 21권 1, 2호 발행을 명기하였습니다.

2.  한국인도학회가 지정기부금단체로 선정됨에 따라 매년 3월 31일 기부금 내역을 홈페이지에 공개하도록 되어 있습니다. 지난 총회 중 안내를 드렸습니다만, 학회의 원활한 운영을 위하여 연회비 납부와 함께 회원님들의 적극적인 후원을 부탁 드리겠습니다. 후원자들께는 외교부 지정양식의 영수증을 발급해 드리며, 질문이 있는 경우 언제든지 총무이사(구하원 hawonku@snu.ac.kr)에게 문의해주시면 감사하겠습니다.

3.  제 40차 정기학술대회는 2016년 6월 11일 (토) 충남 아산 선문대학교에서 개최할 예정이며, 재정지원 및 장소 섭외 등 다방면으로 큰 도움을 주신 한국인도학회 부회장 이거룡 교수님께 감사 드립니다. 현재 선정된 학회발표자는 5월 27일까지 발표원고를 제출하여 주시면 큰 도움이 되겠습니다. 또한 암베드까르 박사 탄생 125주년을 기념하여 준비한 패널의 경우, 발표자 및 타행사와의 조정을 위해 12월에 개최하는 41차 학술대회로 옮겼음을 알려드립니다. 이에 관심을 가진 회원님들께서는 언제든지 연구이사(이지은jieunlee333@hotmail.com)에게 문의해주시면 감사하겠습니다.

4. 현재 『인도연구』 콘텐츠를 온라인상 배포하는 ㈜누리미디어와의 재계약을 두고 임원진 회의에서 계약조건에 대한 논의를 마쳤으며, 모든 회원님과 인도연구자들께서 학회 및 『인도연구』관련 자료를 계속 무료로 보실 수 있도록 재계약을 준비하고 있습니다.  

5.  『인도연구』  편집위원회에서는 이번에 상지대학교 심재관교수님은 새로운 편집위원으로 모시고 편집규정을 일부 보완하기 위한 준비를 마쳤습니다.

6.  주한 인도대사관에서2016년 3월 29일자로 한국인도학회에 대한 지원금(Grant-in-Aid) 50만 루피를 입금하였습니다. 한국인도학회뿐 아니라 국내 인도학 연구에 지원을 아끼지 않으시고 큰 도움을 주신 비끄람 도레스와미 대사님을 비롯하여 비슈누 쁘라까쉬 전대사님, 그리고 대사관과 문화원 직원 여러분께 감사인사를 드립니다.

짧게나마 첫 분기 보고를 마치며, 6월 11일 정기학술대회에서 많은 회원님들 모시고 알찬 시간을 보낼 수 있기를 기대합니다. 빠르게 변화하는 시대에 맞추어 한국인도학회는 부족하나마 학술대회 및 학술지의 운영을 개선하며 보다 많은 회원님들과 소통하는 학회가 되기 위해 노력하고 있습니다. 이 모두 여러 회원님들의 적극적인 성원과 관심 속에서만 이루어질 수 있었으며, 앞으로도 많은 관심과 도움 부탁 드립니다.

Dear Members of the Society,

We would like to inform you briefly of the General Meeting of the Members (November 2015), as well as the events of the past quarter.

At the General Meeting held on November 28, 2015, apart from the annual Settlement of Accounts, the members of the Society passed a vote for adopting a new Article of the Society, which enables the Society to be registered as a Scheduled Association for Donation of the Korean Government. In addition, the members resolved to accept JAMS, the online review system provided by the National Research Foundation for the Journal of Indian Studies, as well as a Revised Code of Conduct for Authors.

We have the following news for the past quarter:

1. As a Non-profit Organization associated with the South Asian and Pacific Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Society completed its annual report for 2015 and submitted its proposals for the year 2016 on February 28^th, 2015. We have listed our two Regular Conferences and publication of two regular issues of the Journal of Indian Studies as our major projects of 2016.   

2. As a Scheduled Association for Donation registered with the Korean Government, the Society is required to disclose its itemized statements of donations on its homepage. In addition to the payment of the annual fee (30,000KRW), we sincerely look forward to contributions of members and non-members, and hope this will lead to stable management of the Society. For all donations, the Society will issue official receipts, which may be used for tax purposes. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the General Secretary (hawonku@snu.ac.kr).  

3. Our 40^th Regular Conference will be held on Saturday, June 11, at Sunmoon University, Asan, Chungcheongnam-do. We sincerely thank Professor Lee Geo-Lyong, Vice-President of the Society, for his efforts in securing financial support and the venue. We request all presenters to submit their papers by May 27, to enable timely publication of the conference material. In addition, we have been planning a special panel celebrating the 125th anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth; however, due to issues of coordination, we will be scheduling this panel for our 41st Regular Conference in December, 2016. Anyone interested in presenting or participating in this panel should contact the Officer of Research (jieunlee333@hotmail.com).

4. We are currently finalizing the terms of contract renewal with Nuri Media Inc., which holds the rights to distribute the articles of the Journal of Indian Studies within Korea. We will be continuing the open-view policy through our website, ensuring that the new contract will not inflict any disadvantages on members of the Society or researchers of Indian studies.

5. The Editorial Board of the Journal of Indian Studies welcomes Professor Shim Jaekwan (Indian philosophy, Sangji University) as a new member, and is in the final stages of revising the Editorial Rules of the Journal.  

6. The Indian Embassy of Seoul has deposited a Grant-in-Aid of ?500,000 on March 29, 2016, for the management of the Society. We sincerely thank the Ambassador of India to Korea His Excellency Mr. Vikram Doraiswamy, as well as former Ambassador His Excellency Mr. Vishnu Prakash, the members of the Embassy and Indian Cultural Centre, for their unceasing support of the activities of the Korean Society for Indian Studies.

The Society has strived to grow throughout the years and adapt our academic endeavors to the newly changing times, and it would not have been possible without the strong support of all members in the publications, conferences, finances and administration of the Society. We sincerely thank you again, and look forward to seeing all of you at the Regular Conference on June 11.
