한국-인도 공동 주최 독립기념일 경축 행사

주한
인도대사관과 한국인도협회 (Korea India Association, KOINA)는 지난 15일 공동으로 인도 독립기념일 (8월 15일)과 같은 날 한국의 광복절을 축하하는 행사를 인도문화원 (Indian Cultural Centre)에서 개최하였다. 이 행사에는 40명의 인도 국세청 직원과 20명의 인도 유소년 대표단을 비롯한
약 400여명의 인사가 참석하였다. 인도 유소년 대표단은
인도 정부의 유소년-스포츠부의 협찬으로 견학 여행 중에 참석하였다.

이 행사는 비쉬누 쁘라까쉬 (Vishnu
Prakash) 인도 대사와 한국인도협회 이희구 회장의 인도 국기와 태극기 게양으로 시작되었다. 이후
인도와 한국 학생들이 인도 국가(國歌)와 애국가를 각각 제창하고
인도 대사는 축사와 함께 인도 대통령의 축하 메시지를 전달하였다. 그리고 한국인도협회 송재성 대표의
한국과 인도의 우정을 기리는 축사가 이어졌다.

이 행사를 위해 인도문화원은 인도 및 한국 문화예술가들을 중심으로
인도 전통 춤과 요가, 한국-까탁(Kathak) 퓨전 댄스 및 한국-인도 퓨전 노래로 구성된 프로그램을
준비하였다. 인도 유소년 대표단은 인도 고전 발레인 바라뜨나띠얌
(Bharatnatyam)과 사로드와 타블로 공연을 선보였다.

인도문화원은 안잘리 반살(Anjali
Bansal) 작가의 “선의 미학” 회화전을
개막하였다. 또한, 인도 수공예품과 헤나 작품 및 다양한
인도 의상들을 선보이는 코너와 여러 인도 음식을 맛볼 수 있는 푸드코트도 마련되어 약 500여명의 방문자가
인도 음식을 접하는 즐거운 시간을 가졌다.

Korea Independence Day celebrations

The Embassy of
India and the Korea India Association (KOINA), jointly celebrated the
Independence Day of India and Korea, which falls on the same day, with members
of the Indian and Korean communities, at the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) in
Seoul, today. Close to four hundred Indians and friends of India joined the
celebrations, including a 40-member group of IRS (Indian Revenue Service)
Officers and a 20-member Indian Youth Delegation sponsored by India’s Ministry
of Youth Affairs and Sports, who are here on study tours.

2. Ambassador of
India Vishnu Prakash hoisted the tri-colour and Mr. Hee-ku Lee, Chairman of
KOINA, unfurled the Taegeukgi (Korean flag). After the national anthems of
India and Korea, rendered by Indian and Korean students, Ambassador greeted all
participants and read out excerpts from President of India’s message to the
nation. President of KOINA Mr. Song Jai Seong in his congratulatory message
lauded the friendship between India and Korea.

3. The colourful
cultural programme organized by ICC on the occasion included Indian folk
dances, Yoga, a Kathak-Korean fusion dance and a special Indian-Korean fusion
song, by Indian and Korean artists. Members of the visiting youth delegation
also presented snippets of Bharatnatyam and a rendition of classical music on
sarod and tabla.

4. An exhibition
of ink drawings titled 'Lakireen' (lines) by Ms. Anjali Bansal was opened at
the ICC (http://indoculture.org/). An Indian Bazaar displaying Indian handicrafts,
traditional decorative ‘henna’ and a variety of Indian wear was also organized.
The food stalls offered a tempting selection of Indian cuisine which was
savoured by over 500 visitors, who were out in numbers, to enjoy the wonderful
weather.
