제50차 정기학술대회 보고 Report for the 50th Conference

안녕하십니까?

6월 12일 온라인으로 거행된 (사)한국인도학회 제50차 정기학술대회 및 (사)한국인도학회·한국외대 인도연구소 HK+사업단 공동학술대회에 대해 보고 올립니다.

개회식은 한국인도학회 회장 최종찬 교수님(한국외대)의 개회사와 소누 뜨리베디 스와미비베카난다 주한인도문화원장님의 축사로 간략하게 진행되었습니다. 개회식에 참석하신 여러 선생님들을 한분씩 호명하며 오랜만에 인사를 나누기도 하였습니다.

이어 진행된 학술대회는 두 개의 패널로 나뉘어 발표와 논평이 이어졌습니다. 첫 패널(좌장 장재진, 동명대)은 “인도 대전환의 실체와 도전”이라는 주제로 인도연구소 HK+사업단의 연구자들이 발표를 진행하였습니다. 힌두교의 현대화와 박띠즘(최지연, 한국외대), 『자재신재인식송』을 텍스트로 한 쉬바파 재인식론의 깨달음의 개념(심준보, 한국외대), 인도-태평양 전략과 쿼드(QUAD) 접근 분석(지연정, 한국외대)을 주제로 세 개의 발표가 있었습니다. 방정란 (일본 대정대), 양영순 (동국대), 요르단카 알렉산드로바 (고려대)의 세 분 선생님께서 논평자로 수고해 주셨습니다.

두 번째 패널(좌장: 이순철, 부산외대)은 “남아시아 문화와 언어”라는 제하에 진행되었으며, 카트만두 쿠마리 사례를 중심으로 살펴본 네팔의 쿠마리(Kumari) 관습(박정석, 목포대)과 초급 학습자를 중심으로 한 힌디어 쓰기 능력 향상을 위한 교육 방안(손연우, 부산외대)을 주제로 두 개의 발표가 있었습니다. 논평은 김경학 (전남대), 비자이 꾸마르 야답 (부산외대) 두 분 선생님께서 맡아주셨습니다.

이번 학술대회가 성공적으로 개최될 수 있도록 공동으로 주최한 한국외국어대학교 인도연구소 HK+사업단에 깊은 감사의 말씀을 전하며, 후원을 아끼지 않은 한국연구재단에도 감사를 드립니다. 휴일임에도 참석하여 축하의 말씀을 전해주신 스와미비베까난다 인도문화원의 뜨리베디 원장님께도 감사드립니다. 알찬 프로그램의 학술대회가 될 수 있도록 애써주신 이춘호 한국인도학회 연구이사님, 이보담 간사님께도 감사의 말씀을 전합니다. 학술대회에 좌장, 발표자, 토론자로 기여해 주신 여러 선생님들과 참석하여 끝까지 자리를 지키며 성원해주신 한국인도학회 회원 여러분께 다시 한 번 감사의 인사를 올립니다.

Report of the Korean Society for Indian Studies

Dear Members of the Society,

The Korean Society for Indian Studies held the 50th Regular Conference on Saturday, June 12th, online. This conference has been co-hosted with the Institute of Indian Studies HK+ Project, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies on the various themes of Indian and South Asian Studies.

In the inaugural session, the opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Jong-Chan Choi (HUFS), President of the Korean Society for Indian Studies followed by congratulatory remarks by Dr. Sonu Trivedi, Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Seoul.

The Conference invited five presentations, which were divided into two panels. The first panel (Chair Jae Jin Jang, Tongmyong University) was comprised of three presentations on the theme of “Reality and Challenge in Great Transition of India.” Dr. Ji Yeon Choi (HUFS) presented on ‘Bhaktism and Mordernization of Hinduism’, Dr. Jun Bo Sim (HUFS) spoke on ‘the Conception of the Enlightenment in the Recognition Philosophy of Śaiva’, and Dr. Yeon Jung Ji (HUFS) presented on ‘India's Indo-Pacific Strategy and QUAD.’ Dr. Jung Lan Bang (Taisho University), Dr. Young Sun Yang (Dongguk University), and Dr. I. Alexandrova (Korea University) commented on the respective presentations.

The second panel (Chair Soon Chul Lee, BUFS) was comprised of two presentations on the theme of “Culture and Language of South Asia.” Prof. Jeong Seok Park (Mokpo National University) presented on ‘the Custom of the Kumari in Nepal’, and Prof. Yeon Woo Son (BUFS) spoke on ‘the Education for Improving Hindi Writing Proficiency’ based on her teaching experience. Prof. Kyung Hak Kim (Chonnam National University) and Prof. Vijay Kumar Yadav (BUFS) also joined the panel as discussants.

We thank our co-host, the Institute of Indian Studies HK+ Project, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, as well as the National Research Foundation of Korea for their generous support of the conference. We want to express our gratitude to Dr. Trivedi, who visited to deliver her remarks. We also applaud the efforts of Prof. Choon Ho Lee, Officer of Research, and Ms. Bo Dam Lee, assistant secretary of KSIS for organization of the program. Last but not least, we thank all participants of the conference, as well as scholars who gathered from various universities to listen and contribute to the proceedings.
