안녕하십니까?

지난 12월 14일 서울대학교 신양학술관에서 개최된 제35차 한국인도학회 정기학술대회 결과에 대해 보고 올리고자 메일 드립니다. 

한-인 수교 40주년을 기념하는 더욱 뜻 깊은 자리였던 올해 행사는 주한인도대사관, 서울대학교 아시아언어문명학부, 한국외국어대학교 인도연구소의 후원을 받아 총 4개의 패널로 나뉘어 여러 선생님들의 다양한 연구발표와 토론이 진행됐습니다.

개회식은 한국인도학회 회장 임근동 한국외국어대학교 인도학과 교수님의 개회사와 이주형 서울대학교 고고미술사학과 교수님의 환영사로 시작하였으며, 이어 비슈누 쁘라까쉬(Vishnu Prakash) 주한인도대사는 ‘인도와 한국 – 변화된 관계 (India and Korea – a transformed relationship)’라는 주제의 기조연설에서 한-인 수교 40주년의 의의과 향후 양국관계의 중요성에 대해 강조했습니다.

이어 진행된 4개의 패널에서는, ‘한-인 수교 40년 회고와 전망 – 한국과 인도’, ‘변화하는 인도’, 예술 속에 드러난 박띠 전통’, ‘현대 인도의 사관 재해석’이라는 주제를 두고 여러 선생님들의 주제 발표와 토론이 진행됐습니다.

본 학술대회 일정 이후 열린 정기총회에서는 여러 회원 분들이 참석한 가운데 2013년도 감사보고가 있었습니다. 재무이사 이춘호 선생님께서 수고해주신 재무보고에 따르면 지난 해 일상적인 수입(한국연구재단학술지 발행지원비, 논문게재료, 학회 참가비, 가입비, 연회비, 이자) 외에 누리미디어에서 저작권료(265,244원)가 입금되었으며, 한국외국어대학교 인도연구소에서 지원금 60만원, 인도대사관에서 학회활동 후원비로 300만원이 입금되어 총 수입금은 8,983,364원이었습니다. 지출(학회지, 발표집, 발표비 및 토론/사회비, 학회진행비, 학술지 계속평가작업비, 간사비)은 총 6,776,320원으로 이월금 5,811,229원에서 8,018,273원으로 결산하였습니다. 감사이신 박정석 목포대학교 교수님께서 참석하지 못하셨으나 이메일로 수입/지출 내역에 문제가 없음을 전달하셨습니다.

임근동 학회장님의 감사 인사 및 폐회사 후 서울대학교 언어문명학부 주최로 호암생활관에 마련된 저녁 만찬 자리에서는 인도학 및 학회 발전에 관한 다양한 의견이 논의됐습니다. 특히 국내외 학자들과의 교류를 확대해 인도학의 위상을 더욱 공고히 하고, 학제간 융합연구를 더욱 활성화하며, 신진 학자들에 대한 학회 참여 독려 및 지원에 대한 의견이 제시되었습니다.

1년 마무리하시느라 바쁘신 데에도 불구하고 다양한 발표와 토론을 통해 새로운 학술적 논의 대상들을 발견할 수 있도록 도와주신 여러 선생님들과 학술대회 준비 기간 내내 따뜻한 관심과 격려를 보내주신 인도학회 회원 여러분들께 다시 한 번 감사의 인사를 올립니다.

Report on the 35th Regular Conference of the KSIS

This year KSIS celebrated 40 years of Diplomatic Relationship between Indian and Korea with its 35th Regular Conference, held at Shinyang Hall, Seoul National University. With the generous support of the Indian Embassy, Seoul, the Department of Asian Languages and Civilizations, Seoul National University, and the Institute of Indian Studies, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, the Conference opened with the Opening Remarks of Professor Geun-dong Lim, HUFS, and the Welcoming Remarks of Professor Juhyung Rhi, SNU. This was followed by Keynote Speech of His Excellency Mr. Vishnu Prakash, Ambassador of India to Seoul, who presented “India and Korea: a transformed relationship.”

The following four panels each discussed 40 years of India-Korea Relationship and Indian Studies, the changes found in Indian society today, bhakti tradition in Indian art, and problems of modern Indian historiography. The Conference was concluded with the General Meeting of KSIS, in which Dr. Choonho Lee, Officer for Finances provided a financial report, in which support from the Indian Embassy, Seoul (3,000,000KRW) and the Institute of Indian Studies, HUFS (600,000KRW) were noted. The Conference Reception was hosted by the Dept of Asian Languages and Civilizations of Seoul National University, at Hoam Hall, and the following issues were raised: to further advance the state of Indian Studies by applying both external and internal viewpoints, as well as interdisciplinary methods, and to encourage and support the participation of younger scholars in Indian Studies.
