제44차 정기학술대회 보고 /Report for the KSIS 44th Conference

존경하는 한국인도학회 회원 여러분께

 

안녕하십니까?

 

지난 68일 동명대학교에서 거행된 제44차 한국인도학회 정기학술대회 결과에 대해 다소 늦어졌으나 간략한 보고 올립니다. 이번 학술대회는 인도 대전환의 기저외 사회과학과 종교철학을 주제로 주요 패널을 준비하였습니다.

   

개회식은 한국인도학회 회장 이거룡 교수님(선문대)의 개회사와 동명대학교 인도문화연구소장 장재진 교수님의 환영사로 시작하였으며, 정홍섭 동명대 총장님의 축사를 이응주 기획처장님께서 대독하였습니다.

   

이어 진행된 학술대회 순서는 3개의 패널로 나뉘어 패널마다 세 분 선생님들의 다양한 연구발표와 토론이 이루어졌습니다. 첫 패널은 인도 대전환의 기저”(좌장 라윤도, 건양대)를 살피는 패널로, 빨리불교와 박띠(김한상, 한국외대; 토론 권서용, 부산대), 시따 담론(박금표, 한국외대; 토론 김경학, 전남대), 벵갈 아시아협회의 설립(신민하, 한국외대; 토론 구하원, 서울대) 등 다양한 주제를 통하여 한국외국어대학교 인도연구소 HK+ 사업단의 연구 성과를 발표하였습니다. 두 번째 패널에서는 인도의 동방정책(김찬완, 한국외대; 토론 이병진, 경희대), 인도좌파 정치 운동(마르텔리, 킹스칼리지; 토론 이춘호, 영산대), 인도태평양의 인도 안보 정책(꾸마르, 한국외대; 토론 지연정, 한국외대)을 통하여 인도의 국내외 정치”(좌장 정채성, 한국외대)를 고찰하였습니다. “종교와 철학의 세계”(좌장 장재진)에서는 달라이라마의 전법활동(양승규, 동국대; 토론 이거룡)유식이십론연구(유리, 부산대; 토론 김명우, 동명대), 중도와 유식(김근중, 동원과학기술대; 토론 윤종갑, 동아대)에 대한 발표와 토론이 이루어졌습니다. 학술대회 후 저녁 식사와 커피를 나누며 참가자들과 회원들의 연구에 대해서도 많은 이야기를 나눌 수 있었습니다.

 

이번 학술대회가 성공적으로 개최될 수 있도록 공동으로 주최한 동명대학교 인도문화연구소와 한국외국어대학교 인도연구소 HK+사업단에 깊은 감사의 말씀을 전하며, 후원을 아끼지 않은 한국연구재단과 ()향기로운 동행에도 감사를 드립니다. 또한 알찬 프로그램의 학술대회가 될 수 있도록 노력해주신 이지은 한국인도학회 연구이사님께도 감사의 말씀을 전합니다. 무엇보다도 바쁘신 데에도 불구하고 다양한 발표와 토론을 통해 새로운 학술적 논의 대상들을 발견할 있도록 도와주신 여러 선생님들과 학술대회 준비 기간 내내 따뜻한 관심과 격려를 보내주신 한국인도학회 회원 여러분들께 다시 한 번 감사의 인사를 올립니다.

 

투고마감을 변경하여 201810월말 출간 예정인 인도연구232호에 많은 투고를 부탁드리며, 128일 개최 예정인 제 45차 한국인도학회 정기학술대회에도 학회원 여러분의 관심과 성원을 부탁드립니다.

Report of the Korean Society for Indian Studies

   

Dear Members of the Society,

   

The Korean Society for Indian Studies held its 44th Regular Conference on Saturday, June 8th, at Tongmyoung University, Busan, and we would like to present a short report of the event. In addition to a panel on the “Great Transition in India”, two main panels were prepared on social sciences and religious and philosophical studies.

 

 

The Opening Remarks were delivered by Prof. Geo-Lyong Lee(Sun Moon U), President of the Korean Society for Indian Studies, followed by Welcoming Remarks of Prof. Jaejin Jang, Director of the Indian Culture Research Institute, Tongmyong University. Professor Jung Hong Sub, President of Tongmyung University, delivered congratulatory remarks through Professor Eung-joo Lee, Director of Planning, Tongmyong University.

 

 

The Conference itself was comprised of three panels with three respective presentations. The first panel was titled “Origins of Great Transition in India”(Chair Professor Ra, Yoon-Dho, Konyang U), and the three presentations on Pali Buddhism and bhakti(Kim, Han-sang, HUFS; discussed by Kwon, Seo Yong, PNU), discourses on Sita (Park Kyum-Pyo, HUFS; discussed by Kim, Kyung-Hak, CNU), and the formation of the Asiatic Society of Bengal (Shin, Minha, HUFS; discussed by Hawon Ku, SNU) provided a wide spectrum of the ongoing research of the Institute of Indian Studies HK+ Project. India’s Look East Policy(Chanwahn Kim, HUFS; discussed by Byung-Jin Lee, Kyunghee U), Leftist Indian politics (Jean-Thomas Martelli, King’s College; discussed by Lee, Choon-Ho, Youngsan U), and India’s security doctrine for the Indo-Pacific(Rajiv Kumar, HUFS; discussed by Ji, Yeon-Jung, HUFS) were presented at the second panel on “Indian Politics at Home and Abroad” (Chair Chaesong Jeong, HUFS). “Religion and Philosophy”(Chair Jang, Jaejin) comprised of three papers on the dharma-transmission of the Dalai Lama (Sung Kyu Yang, Dongguk U; discussed by Geo-Lyong Lee), the Trimshikavijnapti(YooRi, PNU; discussed by Kim Myeongu, Tongmyong U), and Nikaya Majjha training(Kim, Keun-Chung, Dongwon Institute; discussed by Jong-Gap Yoon, Donga U). Following the panels, members and presenters were able to further discuss the presentations and research over dinner and coffee.

 

We would like to thank our co-hosts, the Indian Culture Research Institute, Tongmyong University and the Institute of Indian Studies HK+ Project, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, as well as the National Research Foundation of Korea and Hyanggiroun Donghaeng, Inc. for their generous support of the conference. We also applaud the efforts of Dr. Jieun Lee, Officer of Research, for organization of the program. Most of all we thank all participants of the conference, as well as scholars and students who gathered from various universities to listen and contribute to the proceedings.
